About GirlSmart Education
GirlSmart Education is a youth-led initiative equipping adolescent girls with knowledge to make informed life choices and reduce teenage pregnancies. Our flagship intervention, inspired by the evidence-based Sugar Daddy program, is a one-hour class discussion with 9th-grade girls on the risks of dating older men. Older men have higher HIV infection rates, and are more likely to pressure against safe sex practices. The program helps girls understand the risks of relationships with older men while promoting education, health, and agency.
